Welcome to this week's edition of Uzbekistan Air Cargo Notes, the first and only newsletter focusing on the latest news and insights into the dynamic air cargo market of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. This week we are reporting on Kokand Airport in Uzbekistan to resume its operations, FlyArystan to connect Almaty and Namangan, and plans to build a cargo terminal in Namangan Airport, Uzbekistan.

Kokand Airport resumes its operations (source)
● The reconstruction of Kokand Airport located in Fergana, Uzbekistan has been completed. The regular flights are scheduled starting from 1 April 2024
● The local airport has extended its runway to 2000 meters and constructed an apron with two parking lots designated for A-320 and ATR-72-600 aircraft. In addition to that, a new passenger terminal has been built to accommodate 100 individuals

● FlyArystan, a Kazakhstan low-cost carrier is set to operate regular passenger flights ex Almaty, Kazakhstan to Namangan, Uzbekistan VV
● The flights will be operated twice a week from June 2024

● As a part of a modernization project of the Namangan International Airport in Uzbekistan, it is planned to build a cargo terminal at the local airport to strengthen the region's export and transit potential
● In addition to that, the fleet of special equipment will be updated to serve any type of aircraft
